I had high expectations. I am a big fan of cateye products and like their ubiquity and solid performance. Cateye has gotten it right in the past, always.
I guess it was time for them to lower their customer expectations. The faults I had are as follows:
Instructions:
Yes, they are confusing but not indecipherable. I should of taken it as the first sign that a marque product had such little thought put into initial setup. I do not know what intern designed the instructions but they deserve a failing grade
Function:
My last two cateye computers have had problems with either fitting into their mounts, or once in the mount they get stuck clicking. This is bad, as this is how you reset the computer. Press down and three seconds later everything is erased. Now cateye evidently wanted an automatic erase version in the middle of a century. They got it.

The ultimate and unforgivable flaw is that the signal from both the heart rate monitor and speed/cadence sensor drops constantly. Distance between sensor, phone and computer is not the issue as both the speed/cadence and heart rate monitor routinely died off. I rode a metric century with the cateye and cut out at least 15 times for the HRM. Speed was just as bad.
Shame on Cateye:
Cateye has a reputation of making solid, utilitarian products that function beautifully. I think that this is a great idea, and perhaps another company would of pulled it off seamlessly. Cateye however, completely fell flat on this one.

There area lot of mixed reviews, which is a bad sign. This wasn't rocket science. My faith in cateye is shot.
Do not buy, this product is far from what is advertised..
