- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2016I had to add my review to say This is the One!!
I love that it is lightweight and operates smoothly. It has a medium curve, not as flat as the plastic travel types, but perfect for my almond shaped eyes. (You can see comparison photos of the various curves on a few review websites, I considered the more expensive Shu Uemura, but hated seeing reviews here stating some are counterfeits). This could be curved enough to pinch at the corners/ends of the clamp (nose side maybe) if you are not careful, but I have not had a problem. What I love is that is makes a perfect curve into my lashes without having to press hard at all. I also have the feeling that it will last for a long time - which is great - this version came with a pad installed, and one spare in the box and two additional refill pads (4 altogether). How nice to think that I will get the chance to use them ; )
I have been using the Japonesque travel type plastic eyelash curlers for many years now, (both colors) and I have to say while they are a great design for viewing and accurately curling lashes, they are engineered to break at the tiny points on the handle, in fact I have never even used the replacement pads - they're always broken after 6 mos. The last time it broke while curling in a most startling way and I felt lucky not to have been injured. So I began my search - I returned one other metal type to Amazon because it had an odd design feature with an extra curve at the edge against the lash line - this kept the device from getting close to the lid and put the bend farther out - making my lashes curl closer to the ends instead of the longest they could to appear to be and also made it very uncomfortable to use.
This Shiseido is flat edged and super comfortable to use, and can be positioned right against my eyelid. I even tried it over dried mascara the day it arrived (which I don't like to do, but I was curious to try it out when it arrived) and it didn't pull. I doubt I will ever have to do that again though, because every day since then my lashes have stayed curled perfectly from the morning mascara application and have not needed re-curling. Did I mention how light and easy to use it is? I am so glad that I didn't have to keep testing out other types or spend more money. This is a perfect price point for something used so close to the eye. If I have any issues I will definitely be back to edit this review.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2015This is my second eyelash curler. My first one was bought at a cheap asian department store in Toronto, and ever since then, I had always believed that my asian lashes will never ever curl and will remain straight forever. After watching a Japanese youtuber use this curler, I decided to pay a little more to buy this and hope that it would work. It does work! The clamp is big, so it covers a lot of your lashes, and it curls them beautifully without pinching (my old one always pinched my eyes, so I thought my skills were just bad). I guess this just says that sometimes expensive stuff do work better.
It's so strange that this is $16 though. On the top it says 800 yen, so that would be just $7 US, and the replacement packet is 100 yen, so maybe just $8 US at most, but it costs double the price on Amazon and even a whooping $19 on sephora!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2019I am caucasian with almond shaped lids and very stubby to nonexistentlashes and any eyelash curler I have ever tried pinches my eyelids & never holds the curl. These are PERFECTLY fit to my eyes and do not pinch at all! I even tried the other brand similar to these also begins with S and the were a little longer width & flatter so they pinched my outer lid. These are the perfect length & curvature for my lids & the 3 extra refills that came with them definitely made it worth the price. Will def order again when needed...sorry for the awful pics lol

- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2017I had initially purchased this because I was unable to find rubber (and not silicon) replacement pads for my old eyelash curler. This was reasonably priced and I figured I'd try one with the silicon pads. This curler actually works fairly well. I do think however that it's made for Asian shaped eyes. I'm only half Asian and it works well enough for me, but I can see how it might be too 'flat' for many non-Asians. American curlers tend to be much curvier and this one did take me a few times to get used to using after using the American ones for so long. So far after months of use, I've never had any lashes caught in the edges or accidentally pulled out while using it.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2015Exceeded my expectations! It is lightweight but the quality is still there. Came in with a total of 4 of the rubbers (2 in the pack itself and 2 extra for refills) so I will be set for awhile. It is a tiny bit smaller in size overall than the Revlon eyelash curler I am replacing but it does not make a difference to me. I am Asian, have almond shaped eyes with mono lids and my lashes are average length. Using the Shiseido eyelash curler opened up my eyes - they had a beautiful, natural curl and the lashes were evenly spread out. I did not experience any more pinching since the arch shape was not as rounded, but more flattened out to fit my eye shape/flat face. I see quite a difference after only 2 uses and very happy with my investment.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2022I’ve since seen this curler listed on various K-beauty sites for $10-$13. Just something to know! I ended up going back to my Kevyn A curler (I actually think it’s easier to maneuver for deep set, or hooded eyes) because it opens wider (like by double). This is still a nice, all metal option & obviously I can’t speak to everyone’s eye shape/lashes!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2022I saw this eyelash curler on Tiktok and really was not expecting to be impressed but this eyelash curler is amazing!! It is worth the price. It gives my lashes so much more length and keeps them lifted all day long. I highly recommend this product!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing- just wish it was a little cheaper
I have very straight, downward pointing eyelashes that are a pain to curl and stay curled. Before getting the shiseido, my routine consisted of heating my eyelash curler with a lighter and repeatedly curling until the majority of my lashes were curled- and then finishing them with a waterproof mascara. Painfully annoying.
This thing managed to get ALL of my lashes in one go- even those inner and outer corner strays you’ve given up on curling because they never seem to fit in a curler no matter how you position it. And it curled beautifully, no crack-head using my lighter to heat my curler activity required. Mascara to show the curl because my lashes are blonde.
Really wish I didn’t like this, because it’s almost $50. But if you’re thinking of getting it- just do it. It’s great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Si es original
Se tardó en llegarme como tres semanas pero valió la pena la espera. Es el mejor enchinador que he probado en mi vida. No me maquillo a diario pero si me enchino las pestañas todos los días y el rizo me dura muy bien sin ponerme rímel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well for asian eyes
The product fits my asian eyes very well. I have had problems with eyelash curlers in Europe for a long time and they never fit my eye curve

2.0 out of 5 stars Incomplet et inconfortable
Il manquait un paquet avec les recharges et l'anneau est si étroit qu'il est difficile de passer le pouce, seul le bout du pouce rentre. Je n'ai pas de gros doigts mais c'est assez inconfortable.

5.0 out of 5 stars In 30 years best curlers I have used
Firm to hold, not thin. Good grip & not caught any eyelashes. Been using eye lash curlers for 30 years & these are the best- no exaggeration. Will only buy these from now on, so glad I discovered this brand.
