After getting saturated with the scorching heat of summer people started chanting ‘Rain Rain come again’ and here rain comes and drench your body and soul with a refreshing splash. But the pollution in the air also makes a layer on your whole body which can give you gifts like skin and scalp infection, cough and cold, etc. Your beautiful hair is the first part of the body which comes in the contact of rain and also prone to chemical damage. The monsoon season makes your hair flat and frizzy and you started thinking that making your hair soft, bouncy and shiny is next to impossible.
But with some simple home remedies and precautions you can maintain the soft and bouncy texture of your hairs easily
To prevent hairs from frizziness try this one. Mash three bananas into a bowl and add honey to make a consistent paste. Apply this hair pack on your scalp and leave it for an hour. Rinse it off from your hairs with cold water. It will nourish your scalp and make your hairs softer.
Mayonnaise is full of proteins and thus condition your naturally while nourishing them. Apply it on your scalp and cover your hair with a shower cap or a warm towel. The heat will help in opening the pores on the scalp and the proteins can go deeper into the hair roots. Leave it for 20 minutes and rinse it off with water.
An itchy scalp is common in the rainy season and adding some vinegar to the water will help in cleaning the scalp from any infection. Always use a diluted solution of vinegar since plain vinegar is very strong to apply on hair. For a single rinse takes one fourth of each i.e. water and vinegar. Some people prefer apple cider vinegar due to its less intense smell. After applying diluted vinegar to your scalp, massage it slowly so that it can be absorbed by the scalp. Rinse it off after 5-10 minutes with cold water. Avoid washing with hot water since it makes your hair dull and frizzy. Cold water help your hair shaft to lie flat and help you in retaining the smooth and shiny texture. It is a natural conditioner so there is no need of conditioning after applying vinegar on your hair. The acidic nature of vinegar will help in cleaning any product remain or chemical residue from the scalp.
Add one tablespoon of honey in a container and pour the vinegar rinse into it. Shake it well so that you get a consistent solution. Apply on your scalp and leave it for ten minutes. Honey will clean as well as moisturize your scalp and its smell will overcome the intense smell of vinegar. It will be more helpful in dry hairs.

Break a raw egg and take out the egg white in a container and discard the yolk. Add the vinegar rinse into the container and put on the lid. Shake the container to make a consistent solution. Apply it on your scalp and massage it well on to it. Leave it for 10 minutes and rinse it off with cold water. This remedy will nourish the scalp with proteins and makes the hair soft and shiny.
You can add half or one tablespoon of oil like coconut oil, almond oil, olive oil, etc. to your vinegar rinse if you have dry hairs. This little amount of oil will keep your hair conditioned until the next hair wash.
If you can’t stand to the vinegar scent, then you can add fragrance of herbs into it which makes it tolerable. To prepare this vinegar herb extract, put the vinegar rinse into a saucepan and add a tablespoon of the dried herbs such as lavender, rosemary, sage, etc. Let the herbs cook with the vinegar rinse for ten minutes and leave it to cool down. Separate the extract by straining and apply it on your scalp. Leave it for 5-10 minutes and rinse it off with cold water. The herb extract will mask the scent of vinegar in the rinse and it becomes more pleasant to use.
Adding tea tree oil to the vinegar rinse overcome the scent of vinegar with its herbaceous scent and clear off the dandruff from the scalp. It nourishes the scalp and make your hair smooth and shiny.
Curd is a rich source of proteins and when it is teamed up with egg whites its protein content increases double fold. Apply it on your scalp and massage it properly from the scalp to the hair ends. Leave it for 15 – 20 minutes and then rinse it off with cold water. This will make your hair soft and lustrous.
Fenugreek has many properties which help in preventing hair fall problems such as dandruff and dryness which becomes common during monsoon. You can let the fenugreek seeds soak in water for the whole night and then use this water for hair wash. Another tip is that you can make a paste of fenugreek seeds, fuller’s earth and mint. Ass lemon juice and water into it and use it as a homemade shampoo. It will make your hair shine beautifully.
You can mix 1 cup of honey, 1 cup of almond oil and 1 cup of ground chamomile leaves and apply it on your scalp and massage it gently. Leave it for an hour and then wash it off with a mild shampoo. You will get thick and conditioned hair if you use this remedy twice a week for a month. It will reduce the hair fall and induces hair growth.
Add juice of 2 lemons to the paste of mint and crushed hibiscus leaves and apply it on your scalp. Leave it for thirty minutes and wash it with a mild citrus based shampoo. It will rejuvenate your limp and lifeless hairs and they will look more alive.
Another remedy for lifeless hairs is adding 2 tablespoons of coconut oil to the mixture of juices of two lemons and one orange. Rub it on your scalp and massage it gently so that your scalp can absorb the juices. Wrap a warm towel and leave it for an hour. Wash your hairs with a mild shampoo and let it air dry. This will remove the dull and lifeless look from your hairs.
Try to massage your hair with warm oil at night and wash it in the morning. This evergreen will nourish your hair in every season and they will look beautiful and remain nourished.
